In response to the complaints, the MMC emailed the Indian Embassy in Qatar and the AP Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), explaining the women’s difficulties and seeking steps to facilitate their safe return.

KAKINADA: Two women from West Godavari and Eluru districts have returned safely from Qatar following the intervention of the Migration Management Centre (MMC), set up by Konaseema district collector R. Mahesh Kumar.

MMC coordinator Golla Ramesh said Tatipaka Havila of I. Bhimavaram village in West Godavari district had gone to Qatar for employment due to her family’s financial difficulties. Her brother approached the MMC and lodged a complaint stating that she had been in Qatar for two years, was not being allowed to return home and was facing hardships.

Similarly, Kolukula Nirmala Kumari of Pedda Ellamilli village in Unguturu mandal of Eluru district had gone to Qatar for employment after her husband’s death left her responsible for supporting the family. Her family members approached the MMC, reporting that she had been in Qatar for two years and was being prevented from returning home.

In response to the complaints, the MMC emailed the Indian Embassy in Qatar and the AP Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), explaining the women’s difficulties and seeking steps to facilitate their safe return.

MMC nodal officer Virlu Subba Rao advised people seeking employment abroad to follow legal channels. He urged those facing difficulties overseas to contact the authorities concerned or the MMC. He said the district administration was committed to assisting Indian expatriates facing challenges in foreign countries.
