2 Women From Vizag Killed in Australia Road Mishap

Two women from Visakhapatnam, G Ramadevi and her daughter-in-law Neha Bommali, died in a car crash in Western Australia on Wednesday

A 67-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law, both from Visakhapatnam, died on the spot when their car they were travelling in was rammed by another in western Australia on Wednesday evening.

The deceased were G Ramadevi (67) and Neha Bommali (33). The victims were the wife and daughter-in-law of GT Prasad, who previously worked as an employee of Hindustan Shipyard and later held the post of joint secretary in Visakhapatnam district cricket association (VDCA). He recently travelled to Australia along with his wife to attend a family function there.

As per the police in Australia, the Toyota Corolla was hit by a Porsche Macan at the intersection of Boardwalk Boulevard and Innisfail Drive at about 9:40pm. Both women died at the scene and one more person in the Toyota Corolla suffered injuries.

The 53-year-old Porsche driver was taken to hospital with injuries and is assisting police. Victoria police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Prasad, who was in Corolla, survived with injuries and went into a deep shock.

Telugu NRI associations and local community groups in Melbourne assisted the family for sending the mortal remains to Visakhapatnam for final rituals.
