2 Vehicle Lifters Held, 15 Bikes Recovered in Prakasam
Prakasam police busted an inter-district bike theft racket and recovered 15 motorcycles.

Prakasam district police busted an inter-district motorcycle theft racket by arresting two accused, apprehending a juvenile in conflict with law and recovering 15 stolen motorcycles worth about ₹15 lakh.
The breakthrough came during the investigation into the theft of a TVS Radeon reported at Chimakurthy police station by Inkollu Polireddy, 72, of P. Naidupalem village. Police found an iron rod and a wooden stick at the scene, suspecting the accused had carried them to assault the owner if he woke up.
Under the supervision of Prakasam superintendent of police V. Harshavardhan Raju, a special team arrested the accused near Manchikalapadu Crossroads on Thursday after technical surveillance and investigation.
The arrested were identified as Devarakonda Dinesh Kumar, 23, of Kolachanakota village in Maddipadu mandal and Kalupukuri Sharath Babu, 20, of Kopperapadu village in Ballikurava mandal. The recovered vehicles were linked to theft cases registered at Chimakurthy, Maddipadu, Singarayakonda, Tangutur, Martur, Kothapeta, Darsi and Ballikurava police stations. The accused were also found involved in an attempted theft at the Anjaneya Swamy temple in Bandlamudi village.
The superintendent of police commended the investigation team for swiftly cracking the case and recovering the stolen vehicles.
