2 Booked For Assaulting Homemaker Over Stray Dog Death

Vijayawada: Two men were booked by Pulivendula police in Kadapa district for allegedly assaulting a homemaker who questioned them over the suspected poisoning of stray dogs in her street late on Thursday night.
According to the police, the victim, identified as Kakarala Sultana, confronted the accused after suspecting that they had killed stray dogs by offering food laced with poison.
The accused—Derangula Eeswar (A1) and Anna Bala Gangireddy (A2)—allegedly abused her in filthy language and attempted to outrage her modesty.
Police said Eeswar allegedly exposed himself in a public place and later picked up a stone and hit Sultana on the head, causing a bleeding injury. She was immediately shifted to the local government hospital for treatment.
Based on her complaint, a case was registered against the duo under relevant sections of the law. Further investigation is under way, police said.
