Krishna: As many as 17 people were injured in a road accident near Pendur in NTR Krishna district in the early hours of Friday.
According to locals, the victims belong to a single family from Sorlugondi village in Nagayalanka mandal. They had travelled to Antarvedi in East Godavari district to offer prayers at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple.
After completing the darshan, the family started their return journey to their native village in the early hours of Friday. When the vehicle reached Pendur, it reportedly went out of control and rammed into a culvert on the national highway.
In the accident, 14 people sustained minor injuries, while three others were seriously injured. All the injured were shifted to the Machilipatnam Government Hospital for treatment.
