168 Works Worth ₹17 Crore To Be Inaugurated in Nellore Rural: Kotamreddy

While several projects have been completed, others are under way and tenders for the remaining works will be invited shortly, he said.

TIRUPATI: Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy on Friday announced that 168 development works worth Rs 17 crore will be inaugurated and dedicated to the public on August 10. He said the projects had been completed within the promised 60-day timeframe.

Addressing a press conference in Nellore, the MLA said development works worth Rs 857 crore had been taken up in the constituency during the 26 months since the coalition government assumed office. While several projects have been completed, others are under way and tenders for the remaining works will be invited shortly, he said.

Kotamreddy said future development projects attended by him would continue to be inaugurated by members of the younger generation. He recalled that the Ramalingapuram underbridge road was inaugurated by youth representatives last year.

The MLA said more development works had been executed during his present term than in his previous two terms. He added that an additional Rs 3,000 crore would be required for the constituency's comprehensive development and pledged to continue seeking more funds.

Targeting the YSRC, Kotamreddy alleged that the previous government had hampered the state's development, while the present government was implementing infrastructure projects, attracting investments and working towards completing the Polavaram project.

Referring to allegations of irregularities in teacher recruitment, he defended the recruitment process carried out under education minister Nara Lokesh and challenged the YSRC to produce evidence of unfair appointments. He said he would resign as MLA if the allegations were proved and alleged that around 300 cases had been filed in the High Court to stall the recruitment process.
