13-Month-Old Girl Kidnapped in Tirupati

According to the police, Suchitra and Mastan, a couple from Srikalahasti, had moved into one of the rooms about three months ago along with their 13-month-old daughter, Jayashree.

Tirupati: A 13-month-old girl was kidnapped by a woman and her fourth husband in Tirupati.

The incident occurred on Chintalacheruvu Road, where Munireddy, a local resident, runs a small scrap collection unit dealing in waste paper and plastic bottles. Rooms adjoining the unit are rented out to workers and families associated with the business.
According to the police, Suchitra and Mastan, a couple from Srikalahasti, had moved into one of the rooms about three months ago along with their 13-month-old daughter, Jayashree. Living in the neighbouring room were Murugan and Mareemma, natives of Tamil Nadu. Over time, they developed a close relationship with the family and frequently interacted with the child, playing with her, buying her snacks, and occasionally taking her out on a two-wheeler, which helped them gain the parents’ trust.
On the day of the incident, Murugan and Mareemma took the toddler out on a two-wheeler, as they had done earlier. However, when they failed to return for several hours, the anxious parents searched the surrounding areas and later lodged a complaint with the police.
Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the kidnapped child and the accused.
