1 lakh devotees expected for Antarvedi Kalyanotsavam

Kakinada:Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanotsavam will be held on Friday night at Antarvedi in Sakhinetipalli mandal of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district. The local administration has made arrangements for the event and district collector R. Mahesh Kumar is closely monitoring the arrangements.

Amalapuram RDO K.Madhavi has been made the in-charge officer for the Kalyanotsavam. As many as 10 drone cameras will be monitoring proceedings and have been connected with the command control room, being monitored by the police department.

RDO K. Madhavi said that the Kalyanotsavam tickets will be sold at `200 each from 10.00 am on Friday and VIP passes have been drastically reduced to provide better opportunities for the general devotees to participate. She said all facilities have been provided for the devotees and if they feel any inconvenience, they can call on the helpline 088862243500. This number connects to the command control room set up at the Tourism Guest House.

She said that the Utsavams began on February 4 and will continue up to February 13.

The APSRTC is not able to run buses directly to Antarvedi village. The RTC runs buses up to Malikipuram and then the devotees should change to another bus to Antarvedi.

The officials said that the route up to Antarvedi is very narrow and there is no possibility to run more buses.

Officials said the RTC is running more buses to all depots from erstwhile East and West Godavari districts, but the devotees should change the buses at two places. The RWS officials arranged 20 drinking water stalls and 120 mobile toilets surrounding the area.

The police arranged 11 parking places for vehicles and cameras were installed in these places. The 108 ambulance vehicles and primary health clinics are being arranged in the village. The officials said that nearly 5 lakh devotees can take a darshan for 10 days.
