How does a gun silencer work

This article highlights how things work, and also helps you with a few hacks around your daily life.

When you fire a bullet from a gun, it makes a loud sound. Reason—the bullet contains a few grams of gun powder, which when compressed, ignites and explodes and pushes the bullet outside the cartridge. This explosion causes a loud cracking sound. However, if you install a silencer (also known as a suppressor) to the gun’s barrel, the sound is muffled (silenced) and nobody would even know that a bullet was fired. This is almost similar to how a silencer (muffler) on a car engine works and you can never tell if the car’s engine is running or stalled. So how does the silencer on a gun work? What is the miracle science behind it? Check out the video that explains how it works.
