Shar going strong after 689 missions: Director

A. Rajarajan said that in spite of pandemic restrictions, ISRO could launch 4 missions - 3 PSLV’s & 1 GSLV- following Covid-19 protocols

NELLORE: Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota, has had 689 missions, including 79 satellite launches and 539 rocket launchings, so far.

Director of Shar, A. Rajarajan revealed this while taking part in the Independence Day celebrations at the SpacePort in Sriharikota on Sunday.

He said that in spite of pandemic restrictions, ISRO could launch four missions-3 PSLV’s & 1 GSLV- duly following the Covid-19 protocols. He credited the dedicated efforts of the employees for achieving the milestone.

He congratulated students of Space Central School for their excellent academic results. He appreciated all teachers for their efforts in conducting online classes, which saw the students emerge in flying colours.

D. Naga Durga, a IX standard student from the school was felicitated for finishing third in long jump during the national athletic meet in Calicut.

M. Srinivasulu Reddy, Controller, SDSC SHAR, Commandant CISF, SCC members, service bodies, CISF personnel, employees, teachers, and students and their parents and guardians participated in the programme.
