SpaceX prepares to launch used Flacon 9 rocket for second time

SpaceX is preparing to launch a used Falcon 9 rocket into the space for the second time. The rocket will be used to place the BulgariaSat-1 communication satellite, slated to lift off on June 17 from the KSC’s historic Launch Complex 39A.

Hours after the Falcon 9 rocket launched a refurbished Dragon cargo capsule towards the International Space Station on June 3, the California-based rolled a preflown Falcon 9 first stage into a hangar at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida.

The rocket was first used in January 2017 for carrying 10 communication satellites to low-Earth orbit for the Virginia-based company Iridium. The mission was SpaceX’s first since a launch pad explosion destroyed a Falcon 9 and its payload during a routine test at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, next to KSC.
