A small social enterprise in Hyderabad, Bamboo House India has set an example for others to follow by constructing an innovative bus stop built by using recycled water bottles.

This bus stop of Swaroopnagar colony has been built by using thousand recycled plastic bottles, bought from a scrap dealer.

The shelter is eight foot high with a metal frame.

The water bottle bus stop was conceptualized and constructed by Bamboo House India under their 'Recycle India' initiative.

Founder of Bamboo House India, Aruna Lingam said that only recycled plastic bottles were used to construct the bus stop, even though they typically cost more than new plastic bottles.

Lingam further said, "We have made this for a trial and to check if bottles will bear the extreme conditions but till now no bottle has trashed."

The shelter was built within two weeks time by two young graduates and at a total cost of Rs.15, 000 with single bottle costing Rs. 1.40.
