Two win patent for hair regrowth

Hyderabad: Two cosmetologists from India have procured hair regrowth patent from the United States as it has shown good results in 100 patients who underwent chemotherapy. Clinical trials have been carried out in a total of 10,000 patients. 

The molecule QR 678 that treats hair loss in patients in the affected area of the scalp was found to promote hair regrowth. The treatment is aimed at patients with male pattern baldness, female pattern baldness and baldness caused due to diseases or treatment modules. 

 

Dr Debraj Shome, plastic surgeon and cosmetic dermatologist Dr Rinky Kapoor have been granted the patent.
