Mumbai: Did you know various experiments that were conducted in the past were believed to be capable of destroying the world had they been carried till the end? One of such experiments were the Kola Superdeep Borehole experiment, in which the Soviet scientists drilled a hole in the Earth reaching 40,230 feet, digging the deepest hole into the Earth of all time. Although they would have kept going deeper into the Earth’s crust, but the fear of unleashing seismic disaster led to the calling off of the experiment.
