Countdown for PSLV-C32 launch beginning today
Nellore: The countdown for the launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C32) with Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS)-1F on board will begin at 4 pm on March 8. The launch is scheduled for March 10 at 4 pm. As part of the launch, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C32) was attached to the rocket by moving from the vehicle assembly building to second launch pad. Later, the scientists completed the global checking. Once the entire process of mounting the launch vehicle to the rocket is done, the scientists conducted the Mission Readiness Review (MRR) meet under the chairmanship of Dr Suresh and handed over the experiment works to the Launch Authorisation Board to give the green signal for the launch.
The 1,425 kg IRNSS-1F satellite is the sixth one among the seven satellite segment of IRNSS. The last one in the segment IRNSS-1G will be launched after the second week of April and this would pave for India to have its own GPS system. With respect to PSLV-C32/IRNSS-1F mission, integration of all the four stages of the rocket has been completed and the scientists of ISRO arranged head shield around the satellite after mounting it on the rocket on Friday night itself.
After conducting the launch rehearsals on Monday night, the countdown for the experiment will begin at 10 am on Tuesday. After a 54 hour countdown, the IRNSS-1F satellite will be launched into the space at 4 pm on Thursday. ISRO chairman A.S. Kirankumar will reach Shar to supervise the experiment.
