SpaceX scraps second launch attempt in two days for Falcon 9 rocket

The first attempt was aborted on July 2, Sunday

With less than 10-seconds to liftoff, Elon Musk’s space agency SpaceX was forced to stop the second launch attempt of its Falcon 9 rocket carrying Instelsat SA, a commercial communication satellite, in past two days. The launch was reportedly aborted by an automated system.

The first attempt was aborted on July 2, Sunday. The rocket was set to blastoff from NASA’s Kennedy Space Station in Florida, but it was also scrapped just at T-10 before the launch. In the second attempt, scheduled for Monday, the launch was shifted to 8.35pm EDT from the decided time 7.37pm EDT.

“It was standing down due to a violation of abort criteria, vehicle/payload in good health. The next launch opportunity will be on July 4,” SpaceX tweeted, immediately after the launch was aborted.

However, hours later, Elon Musks tweeted: “We are going to spend the 4th doing a full review of rocket and pad systems. Launch no earlier than 5th or 6th July. Only one chance to get it right…”
