Police said the staffer took the woman to the men’s toilet under the pretext of inspection, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately

Bengaluru: The Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) police have arrested an airport staffer following a complaint by a South Korean national who alleged sexual harassment during a routine security check at the Bengaluru airport.

According to police, the incident occurred on January 19 when the woman had arrived at the airport to travel to South Korea. The accused staffer allegedly claimed that a beeping sound was coming from her bag during ticket inspection and asked her to undergo a separate check.

Police said the staffer took the woman to the men’s toilet under the pretext of inspection, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately. The woman strongly objected, but the accused continued the search before leaving the spot.

After the incident, the foreign national reported the matter to airport security personnel, who immediately detained the accused and handed him over to the airport police. CCTV footage reviewed by the authorities reportedly confirmed the incident.
