Female Foreign National Molested At KIA, Accused Secured

An unsuspecting female was taken to a secluded place near the VIP lounge at the airport and began to touch her inappropriately on her body without consent and later hugged her tightly. The accused let her go after a tight hug

BENGALURU: A foreign national female employee working in a private firm in Bengaluru was allegedly molested at Kempegowda International Airport near Bengaluru on January 19 leading to the arrest of a senior executive of Air India SATS identified as Afhan Ahmed.

The police secured a senior executive based on a complaint from airport authorities and registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused senior executive. Police are checking the background of the senior executive such as his criminal background, if any.

The incident of molestation occurred when the female foreign national was leaving for her country and had passed security as well as immigration checks at the airport when the senior executive allegedly molested her in the guise of conducting a security check.

Sources said the senior executive reportedly told the female that the officials came across a beep sound and noticed a “technical issue” while checking her luggage. He misled the female stating that a standard check on her luggage would consume a lot of time and instead suggested a “private check on her.”

An unsuspecting female was taken to a secluded place near the VIP lounge at the airport and began to touch her inappropriately on her body without consent and later hugged her tightly. The accused let her go after a tight hug.

The female immediately drew the attention of security officers at the airport who alerted the police attached to International Airport before he was secured by the police.FIR has been registered and investigations are underway.
