Telangana CM plans state-level agitation against Centre over I.N.D.I.A. bloc leaders’ arrest

Hyderabad: Condemning the detention of I.N.D.I.A. MPs, including Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, during the rally against ‘Vote Chori’, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that he would convene a meeting with senior leaders to draft a stae-level protest programme against the Centre.
Revanth Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi had begun a fight for democracy and the restoration of the sacrosanct power of every Indian’s vote. The BJP-led NDA government, he alleged, had resorted to the dastardly act of detaining Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other MPs of the I.N.D.I.A. block who he said were fighting to stop vote theft. He called it a cruel act to inhumanely prevent leaders from peacefully heading to the Election Commission office.
Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy was also taken into custody at the PTI Building in New Delhi during the protest rally. He alleged that the BJP government in Delhi had failed to provide adequate security for public representatives during their protest and had illegally detained several MPs on their way to the EC office.
