TD-BJP: Settler to get deputy mayor post
TDP-BJP to offer deputy mayor's post to a Seemandhra settler and mayor's post to Telangana local.

Hyderabad: With the TRS having announced that it would field people of Seemandhra origin as candidates, the TD-BJP combine, which has been claiming it will win a majority of the divisions, on Monday said that it will offer the deputy mayor’s post to a Seemandhra settler and the mayor’s post to a “Telangana local”.
TD and BJP leaders, who visited the Nizam College Grounds in the morning to oversee arrangements for Tuesday’s first joint election meeting, told the media that in view of the sizeable presence of Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad, the parties, after weighing the pros and cons, have taken this decision.
“In 2002, when the TD-BJP combine won a majority of the seats, the TD took the mayor’s post (T. Krishna Reddy), and BJP got the deputy mayor’s post (Subhash Chanderjee). After that, we did not win the GHMC polls, but this time we are sure to come to power. Since Seemandhra voters are in considerable number, both parties have decided to give the deputy mayor’s post to settlers,” TD TS president L. Ramana said.
TDLP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said, “Hyderabad was developed by settlers. What’s wrong if we offer the deputy mayor’s post to them? Settlers have been supporting the TD since its formation, this time too, they will support us.”
He said that if the TRS government doesn’t cooperate with the GHMC in the event of the TD-BJP combine capturing the GHMC, they will seek Central help to develop Hyderabad.
