Women-led enterprises contribute 15% of India’s GDP

Recognising their growing economic influence, the Women’s International Summit on Entrepreneurship (WISE) & B2B Expo 2025 will be hosted on February 28 and March 1 at the Engineering Staff College, Gachibowli, Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Women-led enterprises contribute nearly 15 per cent of India’s GDP, employ over 23 per cent of the workforce, and account for 20 per cent of all MSMEs. Recognising their growing economic influence, the Women’s International Summit on Entrepreneurship (WISE) & B2B Expo 2025 will be hosted on February 28 and March 1 at the Engineering Staff College, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

The event feature eight panel discussions on topics such as e-vehicles, emerging technologies, and global markets. A dedicated B2B expo will connect women entrepreneurs with 40 corporate and PSU procurement teams for direct business opportunities.

The conference will also offer expert-led sessions on artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technology, cybersecurity, sustainable technologies, and global supply chains. Notable speakers include Tarun Agarwal (Maruti Suzuki), Shailendra Saroj (International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association), Mohamed Omar Badran (GIZ, Germany), and Sudhakar Budaraju (former Adani Group executive).

Organised by the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) and funded under the international cooperation scheme of the Union ministry of micro, small & medium enterprises (MSME), the summit will bring industry leaders, policymakers, and global trade representatives together to drive innovation, collaboration, and business growth.

The event will be inaugurated by Governor Jishnu Dev Verma and will see the participation of ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Konda Surekha.

To support aspiring women entrepreneurs, the summit will feature student interaction sessions, government scheme awareness programmes, and discussions on digitisation, circular economy, and business expansion beyond incubation. The event will conclude with the Shakti Awards, honouring 108 successful women entrepreneurs.
