Agnivesh Agarwal, the eldest son of mining billionaire and Vedanta Plc founder Anil Agarwal, has passed away in the United States at the age of 49.
He was serving as chairperson of Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd., a subsidiary of the Vedanta Group, and was also a board member of the company.
Agnivesh had sustained injuries in a skiing accident in the US and was undergoing recovery when he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.
“Following a skiing accident in the US, he was recovering well at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. We believed the worst was behind us. But fate had other plans, and a sudden cardiac arrest snatched our son away from us,” Anil Agarwal wrote on social media.
