Missing Bengaluru Student In California Found Dead
The Berkeley Police Department continues their investigation to find out the cause of Saketh’s death

BENGALURU: A pall of gloom descended on the family of Sreenivasaiah, a resident of Srigandada Kaval of Bengaluru city on Sunday after Berkeley Police Department recovered the body of his son Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a student of University of California, from Anza Lake in California. The death of Saketh was confirmed by The Consulate General of India in San Francisco, United States of America.
Saketh went to University of California in September last year to pursue graduation in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and he went missing on February 12 morning after his housemate Baneet Singh searched all known places. After confirming that his roommate was not traceable, Baneet Singh lodged a formal complaint at the Berkeley Police Station of California.
Swinging into action, Berkeley Police Department recovered a laptop along with a bag and passport near the Anza Lake area while there was no sign of missing Saketh. However, the investigating police recovered the body of Saketh from the lake and the family of Sakesh in Bengaluru were informed about it.
On Saturday, Saketh’s father Sreenivasaiah told Deccan Chronicle that he had no clue what made his son go missing and stated his son never shared any discomfort or any inconveniences while he regularly contacted the family. On Sunday, relatives and friends of Sreenivasaiah visited the bereaved family to console the family members. However, Sreenivasaiah could not be contacted over phone.
Meanwhile, The Consular officers are in touch with the bereaved family for the repatriation of mortal remains of Saketh to Bengaluru. The Berkeley Police Department continues their investigation to find out the cause of Saketh’s death.
