Thiruvananthapur: Shashi Tharoor has defended his statement praising the LDF government's startup policy in Kerala.
Tharoor said he had always lauded the good initiatives irrespective of which party implemented them. He clarified that he praised the state government's initiative based on the rankings of Global Startup Ecosystems and not merely on government's claims.
He said his remarks were not an endorsement of any government policy but objective assessment of development initiatives.

Tharoor's statement was not endorsed by state Congress leadership. Opposition leader V D Satheeshan said he was not aware of the data placed by Tharoor to assess the progress in startup sector.
