MLAs of Bodhan, Medak hopeful of Cabinet berths

Nizamabad: The Congress scores are eagerly waiting for the expansion of Revanth Reddy-led Cabinet as senior MLA P. Sudarshan Reddy from Bodhan in Nizamabad district and first time MLA Mynampally Rohit from Medak are hopeful of getting ministerial posts in view of changed political equations, the leaders from the two districts. As per the directives of national and state leadership of Congress, the MLAs will be inducted into the state Cabinet soon.

Congress high command reportedly offered Sudarshan Reddy, who is a fout-time MLA, the Assembly Speaker post, but he did not show interest to take up the responsibility. Being treasurer of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Sudarshan Reddy is maintaining a close rapport with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. In addition, both are related by their families.
In the erstwhile Nizamabad district, four Congress MLAs P. Sudarshan Reddy (Bodhan), R.Bhupathi Reddy (Nizamabad rural), Madanmohan Rao (Yellareddy) and T. Laxmikanth Rao (Jukkal) won the recent Assembly elections. Sudarshan Reddy served as minister between 2009-2014 in the undivided Andhra Pradesh. Being a senior MLA, he is confident of getting a Cabinet berth from Nizamabad district.
In the undivided Medak district, C.Damodar Rajanarsimha is serving as health minister. Youngest Congress MLA Mynampally Rohit also became front runner for ministerial post. To face the high voltage political scenario in the district, Congress high command is planning to encourage young leaders in party affairs and government activities. On the same lines, Rohit is also expecting minister post in the upcoming Cabinet expansion.
Rohit’s father, former MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao has a strong base in Greater Hyderabad limits and succeeded to strengthen BRS in Hyderabad. In view of this, few Congress leaders believed that inducting Mynampally into the Cabinet would improve the prospects of Congress under GHMC limits and Medak Parliamentary constituency. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a Congress MLA said on condition of anonymity said that party high command was preferring to encourage youngsters and new comers in Telangana.
As per protocol, Congress state leadership would pick up senior MLAs for Cabinet posts. “We are expecting that the services of all eligible MLAs will be taken into consideration at least after two years’, he opined. Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy was giving utmost importance for loyalists for key posts, he said.
