Missing Agniveer Found Dead in J&K’s Khour Sector

SRINAGAR: The body of a missing Agniveer was recovered late Friday evening in the Khour sector of Jammu.
Officials in Jammu said on Saturday that Agniveer Jimmi Ngmminium Mate, a resident of Manipur, was deployed with the 5 Assam Regiment at a forward post along the border with Pakistan in the Hamirpur Sidher area.
A search and rescue team found the body about 100 meters from the forward post at the International Border (IB) around 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indian Army informed the Khour Police, and a team led by SHO Inspector Neeraj Choudhary reached the scene to begin investigations, officials said.
After completing legal formalities, the body was shifted to Military Hospital 170 in Akhnoor on Friday evening for a wreath-laying ceremony scheduled for Saturday at the Army Headquarters in the Akhnoor sector, Army sources added.
