Iran Missiles Raining in UAE, Say Gulf NRIs

Hyderabad: Close to 15 missiles were intercepted over the UAE overnight, triggering emergency alerts and widespread anxiety among residents, including members of the Telugu community.

Residents said their phones buzzed repeatedly through the night with official warnings of possible missile activity. “Last night was really scary. Our phones were constantly buzzing with emergency alerts. My sister counted more than 12 missiles intercepted mid air. It was blasting,” said a resident who did not want to be named.

David Raj from Dubai said missiles were raining through the day. “Missiles are continuing to be fired on Dubai. Some were intercepted but many were not. One of them was directed at an oil base, but it almost hit a hotel,” he told Deccan Chronicle.

In Sharjah, Krithika said the situation appeared calmer on Tuesday but tension remained. “Things are better now. We are going out safely, but tension is still palpable. Some people are planning to go to Muscat by bus and from there fly to India. But we are not sure about safety,” she said.

At a Dubai airport hotel, a printed notice was slipped under doors listing destinations where Emirates was resuming flights, including Manchester, London Heathrow, Paris, Frankfurt, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jeddah and Munich. Guests, whose destinations were not listed, were advised to remain in their rooms until contacted.
