Gyanesh Kumar Offers Prayers at Tirumala and Tiruchanur Temples

Temple officials accorded the couple a traditional welcome and arranged special darshan. Following the darshan, Vedic scholars rendered Vedasirvachanam and temple authorities presented them with teertha prasadam.

Nellore: Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar, along with his wife, offered prayers at the Tirumala and Tiruchanur temples during his two-day visit to Tirupati on Saturday.

The couple first visited the Tirumala temple and later had darshan of Goddess Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru at the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanur.

Speaking to media persons outside the temple, Gyanesh Kumar said he prayed for all voters in the country and for the peaceful and successful conduct of elections across India.

Raising the slogan “Jai Bharat”, he said every voter has an important role in strengthening democracy.

He described the visit as a spiritually significant beginning and expressed hope for free, fair and smooth elections in the country.

State chief electoral officer Vivek Yadav, Tirupati joint collector R. Govinda Rao, district revenue officer G. Narasimhulu, TTD officials and other senior officers were present during the visit.
