Suvendu: Gave BSF 1000-plus Acres Of WB Land So Far
Mr Adhikari stated on X-handle, “Ensuring National Security and strengthening our Borders is a top priority for our Government. In our commitment to securing the India-Bangladesh Border, we have expedited the land transfer process to the Border Security Force (BSF) for the construction of essential fencing. As of today, a total of 1,024.75 acres of land spanning across 172.6 kms has been formally handed over for this purpose.”

Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari announced on Tuesday that the state government has transferred more than 1000 acres of land to the Border Security Force to fence the unguarded stretch of the India-Bangladesh border after BJP came to power here. Among the districts, Murshidabad has seen the highest area of land given to the BSF.
Mr Adhikari stated on X-handle, “Ensuring National Security and strengthening our Borders is a top priority for our Government. He also shared the district-wise breakdown of the land transfer to the BSF. While Murshidabad topped the list with 337 acres of land for 45.4 kms, North 24 Parganas came second with 241.03 acres for 42.07 kms, followed by Cooch Behar (135.33 acres for 39.39 kms), Malda (176.78 acres for 20.15 kms), Nadia (95.11 acres for 14.79 kms), Dakshin Dinajpur (26.41 acres for 7.75 kms), Darjeeling (4.31 acres for 1.45 kms), Uttar Dinajpur (6.61 acres for 1.28 kms) and Jalpaiguri (2.17 acres for 0.31 kms).
The CM added, “We remain steadfast in our resolve to complete these projects to ensure a safer and more secure environment for our Citizens.”
