Koraput (Odisha): Odisha food minister Krushna Chandra Patra, who is known for “on-the-spot style justice delivery style,” on Friday ordered the suspension of a block-level supply official after a family complained of being denied rice under the public distribution system (PDS) for nearly two years in Koraput district.
The action followed a grievance raised by Kamala Gamel, a resident of Uparakanda under Chatua gram panchayat in Nandapur block, who informed the minister that the ration card of her four-member family had been withdrawn without explanation, leaving them without subsidised rice since 2022.
