Bhubaneswar: In a stirring show of patriotism ahead of Independence Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joined a massive Tiranga Yatra (Tricolour Rally) in Cuttack on Thursday, organised by the BJP’s Cuttack 42 Mouza Mandal. The event, part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, drew thousands of participants waving the national flag with pride.
The rally, which began at Jhinkiria and culminated at Chanduli, transformed the streets into a sea of saffron, white and green. Participants — including Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi — took part in both a foot march and a high-energy motorbike procession, drawing cheers from residents lining the route.
Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, launched nationwide from August 12 to 14, seeks to instill deep respect for the national flag and raise public awareness of its significance.
“Younger generations must understand the meaning and pride behind our tricolor. This initiative, started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reached every corner of the country last year and is once again uniting people in a spirit of national pride,” the CM said.
With chants of unity and remembrance for freedom fighters, the Cuttack rally marked a spirited build-up to Independence Day celebrations across Odisha.
