Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Disburses Third Tranche of Subhadra Yojana to Over 1.24 crore Women

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who has been reviewing implementation in Kotia in Koraput district since Friday, said women who had not received any payment since the launch of the scheme were also given all three tranches at once

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday released the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana, transferring Rs 5,000 each to more than 1.24 crore women beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made the announcement at a public programme in Jeypore, Koraput district, where symbolic cheques were handed over to selected recipients. Funds were credited to the bank accounts of the remaining beneficiaries simultaneously.

According to the government, 246 women who had been excluded from previous disbursals received all three installments — amounting to Rs 15,000 each — in a single transfer.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who has been reviewing implementation in Kotia in Koraput district since Friday, said women who had not received any payment since the launch of the scheme were also given all three tranches at once.

The Subhadra Yojana is available to women with an annual income below Rs 2.5 lakh and no income tax liability. Those owning more than five acres of land, earning above the income limit, or having recently purchased vehicles are ineligible.

Parida said about two lakh beneficiaries who had received earlier installments were later found ineligible under the revised criteria. These cases will be reassessed.

The government will reopen the Subhadra Yojana online application portal after August 9. Women aged 21 years and above meeting the eligibility requirements may apply. A door-to-door survey will also be conducted in remote areas, including Kotia, to identify eligible women without internet access.
