Prithvi-II, Agni-I Missiles Test Fired

Bhubaneswar: India on Thursday successfully test-fired its indigenously developed short-range ballistic missiles — Prithvi-II and Agni-I — from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, off the Odisha coast.
According to defence ministry sources, both missiles were launched on Thursday evening as part of a routine user training exercise.
“The launches validated all operational and technical parameters. These tests were conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command (SFC),” an official release from the Ministry of Defence stated.
The Prithvi and Agni series missiles have significantly fortified India’s strategic deterrence capabilities since their induction into the armed forces. Designed to carry conventional and nuclear warheads, both systems are integral components of India’s credible minimum deterrence policy.
Defence experts said the successful trials reaffirm the reliability of India’s missile systems and their readiness for quick deployment under any scenario.
