Durga Puja Themed On PM Modi A Hit In Murshidabad
Raju Thakur, the puja organizer, said, “Under Mr Modi's leadership, India has advanced both socially and economically. Wishing for further progress in our country under his able guidance, we proudly chose him as the theme for the 61st edition of our puja.”

Berhampore: A Durga Puja has become a crowd puller in Murshidabad in West Bengal for its theme on Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is seen standing in a clay model and offering Puspanjali to the goddess to seek her blessings.
The model has been designed by famous sculpture artist Ashim Pal, grandson of Yamini Pal, an icon in the same domain. It has triggered so much interest that pandal hoppers are making a bee line to Berhampore Khagra Shashan Ghat Durga Puja mandap.
Raju Thakur, the puja organizer, said, “Under Mr Modi's leadership, India has advanced both socially and economically. Wishing for further progress in our country under his able guidance, we proudly chose him as the theme for the 61st edition of our puja.”
Rejinagar BJP MLA Shakharov Sarkar said, “It is true that Mr Modi is our national icon. India has become a global leader under his leadership of 12 years. We are proud of him. The puja committee has rightly selected him as its theme. We hope that the pandal hoppers will also be enthralled seeing the PM’s clay model.”
Mr Pal said, “The puja organizers asked me to build the clay model of the PM. I tried my best and also hope the pandal hoppers will enjoy seeing our PM in a new avatar.” Last year, the same puja committee sprang a surprise by making a theme on US president Donald Trump who was depicted as Mahisasur.
