SRINAGAR: Jammu Traffic Police on Tuesday seized a vehicle used by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for a public event due to its black-tinted windows exceeding the Motor Vehicles Act's permissible limit.
An unnamed traffic police official, quoted by Kashmir News Corner (KNC), called it a “clear breach of rules,” leading to the vehicle's impoundment. The police emphasized that the law applies to everyone and strict action will continue against road safety violations.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar attracted a large crowd of fans, including men, women, and children from Jammu and beyond, who gathered under overcast skies to see him inaugurate Kalyan Jewellers’ showroom at city's Dogra Chowk.
Promoting his upcoming film Jolly LLB 3, set for release on September 19, Kumar thanked the crowd for their warm welcome, saying, “Jai Mata Di” (Mata Vaishno Devi is deeply revered by the people of Jammu and millions of devotees across India) and noted he arrived on time. He expressed delight at opening the flagship showroom and responded to fans’ “I love you” chants, repeating the phrase “Khand Meethe Log Dogre (sweet-tongued Dogra people)."
