Woman Raped in Moving Train Near Pedakurapadu of Palnadu District
The victim made a complaint to the GRP cops after reaching Cherlapalli railway station.

Vijayawada:A 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a an unidentified person in a moving train on Tuesday.
According to a complaint lodged by the victim to the government railway police in Secunderabad, she boarded the Santragachi train in Rajamahendravaram railway station and sat in the ladies’ compartment to reach Cherlapalli railway station and seek work as a domestic help.
However, as the train reached the Guntur, all other (female) passengers in the compartment alighted. She was left alone in the entire compartment.
A middle-aged man entered the ladies compartment. As the train left Guntur station, he robbed the woman of Rs 5,600, a mobile phone and her hand bag, at knife point, raped her, and jumped out of the moving train before it halted at the Pedakurapadu station.
The victim made a complaint to the GRP cops after reaching Cherlapalli railway station. They registered a zero FIR and transferred the case to Nadikudi GRP.
AP women commission chairperson Rayapati Sailaja described it as an unfortunate development and sought details from the railway police. She called for speedy investigation to nab the culprit and punish him.
