Visakhapatnam:Two persons were killed and three others injured after a jeep overturned on the Paderu ghat road in Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Sunday.

According to the preliminary investigation, six persons from Golugonda in Anakapalle district were returning home after visiting a temple in Paderu when the accident occurred. Police suspect the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve after the brakes allegedly failed, causing the jeep to overturn.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.
Scolded by wife, alcoholic dies by suicide
Visakhapatnam:A 35-year- old man died by suicide at his residence in Bhamini of Vizianagaram district. The deceased was identified as Ramesh Kolakar, a native of Karnataka. The police said, Ramesh along with his family, came to Bhamini in search of livelihood and became addicted to liquor. He took the extreme step after he was chided by his wife over his addiction.
Minor boy booked for raping, impregnating girl
Visakhapatnam:The Vizianagaram district police registered a case against 17-year-old boy for allegedly raping and impregnating a 14- year- old girl. The Garividi police in Vizianagaram district said the boy and girl are residents of the same colony in a village. Recently, the girl was admitted to a hospital for ill health and the doctors declared that she was pregnant. Based on a complaint from the victim girl's parents, the police registered a case against the boy under relevant sections of Pocso Act.
