Two Arrested by Telangana Cyber Bureau in Cyber Slavery Cases

Hyderabad:The Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) officials arrested two persons for their involvement in multiple cyber slavery offences, sending unwary victims to work in cybercrime units in Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

TGCSB director Shikha Goel said that a total of 23 FIRs were registered after the victims returned from different countries and lodged complaints against the accused.

One of the arrested accused, Kolanati Nagashiva, a resident of Jeedimetla, was involved in three cases in CCPS Nizamabad and Armoor and had absconded since the registration of cases, DGP Goel said. When Nagashiva reached Kolkata airport from Laos, he was intercepted at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, on a look out circular originated by the superintendent of police, operations, TGCSB.

Another accused, Hithesh Arjana Soumya, 29, resident of Porbandar, Gujarat, also wanted in cyber slavery cases in Telangana, was arrested from Delhi. Hitesh was repatriated from Myanmar along with some victims by the Union home ministry and was found to be involved in two cyber slavery cases in Manakonduru and Khanapur police limits.

The TGCSB team, that went to Delhi on a special task to bring home the repatriated victims, identified Hitesh and alerted the Manakondur Police who arrested him.

CID Arrests Ex-IDBI Bank Manager

Hyderabad:In continuation of the investigation into the IDBI Bank loan sanction irregularities case, the CID on Saturday arrested an accused, Bukya Suresh, 37, in Mumbai and brought him to Telangana. The CID said Suresh was IDBI Bank manager at Mumbai’s CBD Belapur office. He had previously worked as assets officer (SOM), IDBI Bank, Sathupally branch.

CID officials have arrested five accused in connection with the IDBI Bank Sathupally fraud case. The accused indulged in criminal conspiracy with the ex-manager of the branch in connivance with a bank agent, a business Correspondent, DSTs, their associates and borrowers by submitting forged revenue documents.

The accused cheated the IDBI Bank authorities to sanction loans of around `2.86 crore by violating the bank rules and regulations.


ACB Arrests Surveyor for Taking Bribe

Adilabad:The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested surveyor Umaji while he was a taking bribe of `7,000 to survey a land parcel and issue proceedings to a farmer. The arrest took place in the tahsildar's office in Kadam mandal in Nirmal district.

The ACB said the surveyor had demanded a total of `20,000 from farmer Prabhakar of Gangapur. Of this sum, the farmer had paid Rs 12,000. The farmer then approached the ACB, who raided the office while the surveyor was taking the remaining part of the bribe.

Juvenile Gets One Year Community Service for SA

Hyderabad:The Fifth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Nampally convicted a juvenile and sentenced him to one year of community service for sexually assaulting a minor girl. He is to complete the sentence at the Government Special Home for Boys, Gajularamaram. The court also ordered a compensation of `1 lakh to the victim.

The case was led by additional public prosecutor Anitha Deshmukh, who said the court found the teenager guilty based on evidence, including the victim's statements and forensic reports. The incident came to light when a complaint was filed on June 6, 2022, at Gandhinagar police station regarding a missing 13-year-old girl. She was later found at the juvenile's residence in Mehdipatnam.

The victim stated that the juvenile proposed to her and she initially rejected him but eventually accepted. The juvenile sexually assaulted her multiple times in the promise of marriage. The victim's mother sent her to her aunt's house by observing her changed behaviour, from where she went missing.

The investigation revealed that the juvenile was habituated to watching pornographic content.

According to Anitha Deshmukh, medical examinations confirmed recent sexual intercourse. Furthermore, the victim’s testimony was corroborated by her aunt and parents, who noticed her adverse behavior and frequent mobile usage.

GHMC raids hostels across Hyd

Hyderabad:GHMC task force teams conducted surprise inspections at private hostels across Hyderabad on Saturday and took stringent action against violators. Of the 60 hostels inspected, 38 were served show-cause notices and seven kitchens were sealed. Fines totalling `2,46,000 were imposed under the GHMC Act, 1955.

The inspections were carried out in key areas including Srinagar Colony, Lalithanagar and Dilsukhnagar under LB Nagar zone; KPHB and Moosapet under Kukatpally zone; and Vinayaknagar and Patrikanagar under Serilingampally zone. This is a continuation of Friday’s drive during which 58 hostels were inspected. That operation led to 30 notices being issued, eight kitchens sealed and fines of `2.45 lakh collected.

Officials said the drive was initiated following multiple public complaints against hostel managements for ignoring regulations and operating without adherence to hygiene or safety norms. GHMC has warned that such surprise checks will continue, and strict action will be taken against erring hostel operators.

Police seizes 698 ganja by arresting six persons

Nalgonda:In a joint operation, the Central Crime Station (CCS) and Tekupally police on Saturday arrested six persons at Muthyalapandu crossroads in Bhadadri-Kothagudem district and seized 698 kilograms of ganja worth `3.49 crore from their possession.

The arrested were identified as Sandeep Kumar, Lakwinder, Amarnadh Kumar, Pavan Kumar, Raj Kumar and Krishan Kumar from Haryana.

Police said that based on prior information they stopped two cars at Muthayampadu crossroads and took six persons travelling in them into custody. They said the ganja was being transported to Kurukshetra in Haryana from Sileru in Andhra Pradesh.
