Student Dies After Falling From 8th Floor
At around 12.30 pm, the father went to their allotted double-bedroom house in KCR Nagar Phase II, Kollur, to collect government-issued ration rice

Hyderabad:A 19-year-old college student died after falling from the eighth floor of a Telangana government double-bedroom housing complex in Kollur, allegedly while attempting to escape with her partner, on Thursday, police said.
According to a complaint lodged by Syed Ali Abbas Hussain, 24, working as an electrician and residing in Charminar, his sister Syeda Sakeena Fatima was dropped off at Koti Women’s College around 7 am on Thursday by her father, Syed Alamdar Hussain.
At around 12.30 pm, the father went to their allotted double-bedroom house in KCR Nagar Phase II, Kollur, to collect government-issued ration rice. On reaching the flat, he noticed that the door was found open from outside but latched from inside.
He heard his daughter’s voice from within, but she did not respond when called. Suspecting something, he locked the flat from outside using the spare key in his possession and went down to the ground floor. Shortly after, Sakeena allegedly threw her bag from the eighth floor and attempted to climb down from the balcony with the help of her boyfriend, who was inside the flat at the time. Police said the boyfriend was holding her hands as she tried to climb down, but her grip slipped and she fell from the balcony to the ground floor.
The incident was noticed by municipal staff, who alerted the father and attempted to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The student succumbed to her injuries on the spot. During preliminary inquiry, police identified the person present in the flat with the deceased as her boyfriend, Mir Hussain Ali Khan, a 23-year-old private employee working at a call centre. Based on the complaint lodged later in the evening at around 5.30 pm, police registered a case against Hussain.
