NEET Aspirant Dies by Suicide

She told them that she couldn’t focus on studies if she was away from her parents.

Hyderabad: A student from the city, who was undergoing coaching for NEET in a college in Kannur, Kerala, died allegedly by suicide, reportedly as she was homesick, police said on Thursday.

Police said the student had stayed in the city for two days recently. Sources said she told the family that she did not want to return to Kannur. She told them that she couldn’t focus on studies if she was away from her parents.

The parents apparently assured her that it was a matter of a few months and she could return soon. On August 4, the student told her classmate that she was not well and returned to the hostel. When the friend went to student’s room and knocked, she did not respond. She informed the hostel authorities who broke open the door and found the victim’s body. The body was brought back to the city after legal formalities in Kannur and the family performed her last rites on Thursday.


Excise sleuths Destroy 696 kg Ganja worth Rs 3.5 cr

Hyderabad: The excise department said it had destroyed 696.1 kg of ganja worth `3.5 crore on Thursday. The contraband has been seized in 32 NDPS cases in the police stations of Kothagudem-Bhadrachalam and Khammam districts, Somireddy, deputy commissioner Khammam district, said. The contraband was destroyed in Talleda mandal of Khammam district.

GRP Finds Unidentified Man's Body On Tracks At Neredmet station

Hyderabad: Government Railway Police reported finding the body of an unidentified man by the tracks at the Neredmet station on Thursday. It was suspected that the victim was aged about 40-45 years and had died by suicide. The GRP deputy station superintendent of Secunderabad registered a case of suspicious deathm said S.N. Jawed, DSP. GRP. said.

Hyderabad: The burnt body of an unidentified woman was found in an isolated place in Dhobighat, Domalguda police said on Thursday. The body was found by a ragpicker, who informed the police. Domalguda station house officer Md Amjad Ali said it was suspected that the woman had been murdered, and the body set on fire to erase evidence. Police booked a case and started investigations.

10-yr-ols Student Dies of Snake bite

Hyderabad:A 10-year-old student died after being bitten by a snake inside his classroom in Eklaspur village of Narayanpet district on Thursday. The victim, a Class III student at a upper primary school, was immediately rushed to the district general hospital by teachers on a two-wheeler. Despite efforts, he succumbed while undergoing treatment. Locals have raised concerns about safety measures in and around school premises urging authorities to take preventive steps to avoid such tragedies in the future.

Bike Lifter Nabbed During Drunk Driving Drive

Hyderabad: A theft suspect who allegedly consumed liquor to celebrate a deal to sell the bike was caught by the Asifnagar traffic police during a check against drunk driving. Police said the suspect, Suresh, tried to drive away and hit several persons but was intercepted and arrested.

Asifnagar traffic station house officer Rukmini said ASI M.A. Khan and constable Rajasekhar apprehended Suresh after a chase. His BAC read at 90, the officer said. Police also seized the bike,

She said that after the vehicle penalty challan was posted online, vehicle owner Navila Prasad of Amangal of Rangareddy district called the police to claim the vehicle. He said it was stolen from the Gandhi Hospital parking lot on Tuesday evening, and that he had lodged a complaint with the Chilkalguda police.

Suresh, a native of Nizamabad, had come to the city in search of a job. Police also detained his associate Arun Chowdry allegedly involved in several bike thefts.
