Murder Bid on Wife, In-Law, Cab Driver Booked
When Manga tried stopping him, he stabbed her after blaming her for their marital issues.
Hyderabad:The Miyapur police booked cab driver Bandaru Lanka Mahesh for allegedly attempting to murder his wife Sridevi and mother-in-law K. Manga, following a quarrel at their residence in Janapriyanagar on Tuesday. While Manga suffered grievous injuries on her neck, Sridevi suffered minor injuries, investigating officer Narasimha Reddy said.
Sridevi and Mahesh, married in 2022, quarrelled frequently over his issues with drinking liquor. On Monday, after Mahesh beat up Sridevi, she called her mother over. Manga reached the couple’s house and confronted Mahesh, who attempted to murder Sridevi.
When Manga tried stopping him, he stabbed her after blaming her for their marital issues. Sridevi rushed Manga to a private hospital, where she is undergoing treatment in the ICU.
Police said Sridevi had gone to her mother’s house on April 18, but Mahesh called her back. When she reached, Mahesh, who was allegedly drunk by then, asked her to accompany him to meet a friend. When she refused, he allegedly beat her up.
