Man Hacked to Death Over Property Row

Tirupati: A 42-year-old man, Kanala Chandrasekhar Reddy, was murdered on Srinivasa Mangapuram-Kaluru Road near Tirupati on Sunday.

According to police, Chandrasekhar Reddy, a resident of Pulibonupalle village in Yerravari Palem mandal, was on his way to Tirupati to meet his sons studying at a private college when he was attacked by unknown assailants. The perpetrators hacked and left him in a pool of blood before escaping from the spot.

Passersby who noticed the injured man informed the police, who rushed him to S.V.R. Ruia Government General Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Tirupati rural circle inspector Thameem Ahmed visited the crime scene and gathered preliminary details. Police have registered a case and initiated probe.

According to villagers, Reddy was involved in a property dispute with his brother. Police suspect this might be the motive behind the murder. "It appears the assailants knew the victim's travel plans in advance. We suspect he was intentionally targeted and murdered due to the property issue with his brother," police said. The body has been sent for postmortem. Police teams are examining CCTV footage in the area and speaking to eyewitnesses to identify the accused.
