Hyderabad:A woman suffered severe injuries in an attack allegedly conspired by her husband in Raigiri when he spotted the former with her lover who also happened to be his friend. She suffered leg fractures when the accused attacked her with a weapon.
According to Bhongir rural SI Anil Kumar, “The accused, Ravi, a resident of Mahbubabad, attacked his wife Lavanya, 35, with a knife on Monday after spotting her with Shankar with whom she have been in a relationship for the past two years.”
Ravi and Lavanya were married for 15 years and have four children; two sons and two daughters. Shankar, a friend of Ravi, was visiting their home frequently during which he grew close to Lavanya and eventually developed an affair two years ago. When Ravi confronted her about the growing closeness he was witnessing, Lavanya admitted her interest in Shankar but also grew angry about the confrontation and left the house to live with him along with the kids. The couple was staying together in Raigiri for the last 10 months, the police said.
The SI added that Ravi, who had come to Raigiri for work and was accompanied with his brother and two others unexpectedly spotted Lavanya and Shankar. In a fit of rage, he attacked Lavanya. She sustained a serious leg injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, Shankar fled the scene leaving Lavanya unattended. Further probe is on.
Toddy tapper dies falling from palm tree
Hyderabad:A 48-year-old toddy tapper died after accidentally falling from a palm tree in Doodi Venkatapuram village, under the jurisdiction of Rajapet Police Station, on Wednesday morning.
Sub-inspector Anil Kumar identified the deceased as Godisela Sriramulu, a resident of Doodi Venkatapuram. He had gone to tap toddy around 6 am, as part of his daily routine, when he lost his grip while climbing and fell to the ground, dying on the spot.
Sriramulu is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. Based on a complaint filed by his wife, Bhagya, police have registered a case. The body was shifted to the Government Hospital, Aler, for post-mortem examination.
