Hyderabad:Mehraj Aslam, 25, of West Bengal, died by suicide at a hospital where he was working, Bachupally police said on Saturday. Police suspected he may have used an excess dose of anaesthetic drugs.
According to Bachupally inspector J. Upender Rao, Aslam had shifted to the city in search of work was a male nurse at the hospital.
The family and coworkers of the deceased have stated that Aslam took the extreme step due to financial difficulties as the hospital had reported failed to pay its employees.
Police said a hospital staff member spotted Aslam with a “narcotic injection”. After the police were informed, a case was registered and the body was shifted to the Gandhi mortuary for postmortem examination.
“We suspect he anaesthetised himself, but we are awaiting forensic reports to confirm the substance. We have for now registered a case of suspicious death, but are investigating the accusations against the hospital,” the inspector said.
Vijayashanti’s hubby receives threat call
Hyderabad:Congress MLC Moturi Vijayashanti’s husband M. Srinivasa Prasad has lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police stating that he had been receiving threat calls and messages. Prasad in his complaint reportedly stated that he suspected one Chandrakiran Reddy, who previously worked as their social media handler, of sending a threatening message on April 6.
Prasad stated in his complaint that Chandrakiran Reddy had posted messages stating that if his dues were not paid, they would become enemies, police sources disclosed.
It is reported that Vijayshanti and her husband met a senior police officer after lodging a complaint and sought action against Chandrakiran Reddy. “Based on a complaint we have registered a case and are collecting technical evidence. Action will be taken as per law,” a police officer said.
