Mahbubnagar Officials Quizzed After Bribe Arrests

Sources said the officers were questioned regarding the possible role of senior officials in bribe-taking activities in the district, and their statements were recorded.

Hyderabad:Hours after arresting civil supplies assistant manager K. Jagan Mohan and his driver in Wanaparthy for accepting a ₹50,000 bribe, ACB officials in Mahbubnagar on Friday questioned district deputy collector Bimya Naik and district civil supplies officer Kasiviswanath.

Sources said the officers were questioned regarding the possible role of senior officials in bribe-taking activities in the district, and their statements were recorded.

Earlier, the ACB arrested Jagan Mohan, assistant manager (accounts), after he allegedly accepted a ₹50,000 bribe through his driver Lavudya Laxman Naik. The bribe was reportedly demanded for allotting custom-milled paddy to a new raw rice mill at Miraspally in Wanaparthy. Acting on a complaint from the mill official, the ACB recovered the bribe amount from the right-side front car door bottle holder of the vehicle hired by Jagan Mohan.

In a separate case, the ACB caught Barpati Krishna, panchayat secretary of Ganugabanda in Thungathurthy mandal, Suryapet district, red-handed while accepting a ₹6,000 bribe. He had allegedly demanded the money to allot a number to a newly constructed house. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession.

All three arrested persons were produced before the special court for ACB cases, which remanded them in judicial custody.

Two DMHO officials sacked for forgery

Hyderabad:The Wanaparthy district administration has terminated the services of a district programme officer (DPO) and a district quality assurance manager (DQAM) for submitting fake documents during recruitment in February 2025 on an outsourcing basis. Both were working at the District Medical and Health Office (DMHO) in Wanaparthy.

The action came after senior officials received multiple complaints against the duo during a Praja Vani programme, alleging that their certificates were not genuine. Following an inquiry, the charges were confirmed, and a report was submitted to the district collector, who ordered their dismissal.

Officials explained that a DPO is responsible for implementing specific programmes related to education and health at the district level in coordination with state officers, while a DQAM oversees quality assurance activities to ensure healthcare services meet national standards. ENDS
