Lorry Driver Killed in Collision
The incident occurred when Karthik was driving a sand-laden lorry from Kokapet towards Vattinagulapally.

Hyderabad:A lorry driver lost his life after his vehicle rammed into another lorry which had braked suddenly on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road near the dumping yard towards Vattinagulapally at around 2 am on Thursday.
According to Gachibowli police, the deceased, Tanniru Srinivasa Karthik (33), a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, was residing in KPHB along with his uncle, Tanniru Shiva Prasad, who is both a lorry driver and the owner of the vehicle.
The incident occurred when Karthik was driving a sand-laden lorry from Kokapet towards Vattinagulapally. As per the complaint, a tipper lorry travelling ahead was allegedly being driven in a rash and negligent manner and applied sudden brakes on the service road. Unable to stop in time, Karthik’s lorry collided with the rear of the tipper, crushing the driver’s cabin of his vehicle.
Prasad, who was at his native place when the accident occurred, was informed by a local and reached the city at around 8 am.
Fake Doctor, Pharmacy Owner Held
Hyderabad:The Uppal special operations team, in coordination with local police, apprehended a quack and a medical shop owner for operating an unauthorised clinic and pharmacy near Beerappagadda, Uppal.
During a raid on Anjali Pharmacy and First Aid Clinic, police discovered that Banothu Srinu was pretending to be a doctor without medical qualifications. Another individual, M. Karunakara, was found running the attached medical shop without a pharmacy licence.
Authorities seized various medicines, contraceptive kits, and two mobile phones from the premises. The seized items, along with the accused, were handed over to Uppal police for further legal action.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Police are verifying whether patients suffered adverse effects from the unauthorised treatment provided at the clinic.
4 arrested for burglaries in Chengicherla
Hyderabad:Medipally police, in coordination with the Malkajgiri Central Crime Station, have arrested four individuals from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh for allegedly breaking into nine houses in Chengicherla and stealing gold on the night of January 15-16. The accused were subsequently brought to the city, according to a police press release.
The suspects have been identified as Mahadev Jha and Pawan Gupta of Delhi, Mangal Singh from Kanpur, and Seeram Sav Beerendra from Bihar, who is alleged to have acted as the receiver of stolen property.
Investigations revealed that Mahadev Jha had previously been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for murder in Delhi. He and Gupta were also implicated in three cases registered at Delhi’s Shahabad police station.
During the operation, police seized four mobile phones and recovered a cash of ₹2.04 lakh. Fresh cases have been registered against the accused in connection with the burglaries, and they have been remanded in judicial custody.
Cash, gold burgled in Shamirpet
Hyderabad:Around 20 tolas of gold were reported missing after assailants broke into a house and made off with several valuables, including cash, at approximately 5.30 pm on Thursday.
According to Shamirpet police, the complainant, Nageshwar Rao, was at his grocery shop when the incident occurred. His wife and children had gone to their maternal home in Bachupally.
At around 6 pm, when Rao returned, he discovered the door lock broken and found that 20 tolas of gold and ₹2 lakh in cash were missing. He immediately informed the police, who reached the spot and registered a case.
Police sources said that one of the suspects has already been identified, and officers are in the process of apprehending and questioning him further. Efforts are also underway to trace his accomplices. Further enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
