Hyderabad:Unable to bear her brother in-law’s constant threats and blackmail and mental harassment by in-laws, a 24-year-old woman died by suicide at her grandfather's house in Bayamgalli, New Nallakunta Friday night, said her father. Her uncle broke open the bathroom door and found her dead and informed Nallakunta police.
Her husband’s cousin was taking videos of her when she was taking a bath and threatened her that he would kill her brother and husband if she disclosed about it. He demanded money from her.
The complainant said that the victim had informed the brother-in-law’s wife of the incident. The cousin’s wife, instead, accused the victim of attempting to lure the brother-in-law into an extramarital affair.
The victim’s husband is a businessman into dairy products and they were married on November 29, 2020.
Based on the complaint lodged by the father, police booked cases of abetment to suicide, cruelty on woman by husband and in-laws and criminal intimidation, said Nallakunta sub-inspector J. Srinivasa Rao.
The victim’s body has been handed over to her family after the postmortem at OGH hospital on Saturday.
