Dog Bit Owner After Death: Police
A dog bit its owner’s private parts after his death.

Hyderabad:A dog bit its owner’s private parts after his death. The incident initially looked like the owner died due to the dog's attack. However, Madhura Nagar station house officer (SHO) Md Shakeer Ali said the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) doctor who conducted the post-mortem examination (PME) of Dasari Pavan Kumar, 38, at Gandhi Hospital on Monday, gave an oral opinion that Pavan’s pet dog, a Husky, bit his private parts after his death.
The victim, a cashier at a jewellery store, had reportedly been suffering from breathing difficulties for the past three weeks. “The FSL doctor confirmed that Pavan died due to a rupture in the heart and blood clots. The dog bit him post-death,” the SHO said.
During the initial investigation at the scene along with the CLUES team, Pavan’s roommate, Sandeep, told police that Pavan had a habit of sleeping with his pet Husky. “We initially assumed that he died from the dog attack, but today’s PME report clarified that the death occurred due to cardiac complications and the dog bit him afterward,” Shakeer Ali said.
Pavan had been discharged from a private hospital two days earlier and continued to suffer from acute breathing problems. “He reportedly could not sleep on Saturday night due to ill health and may have died in the early hours of Sunday,” the SHO added.
According to the police, Pavan had latched his bedroom door from inside and was alone with the dog. His death came to light only when Sandeep grew suspicious after receiving no response from Pavan till late Sunday afternoon. He alerted neighbours and contacted the police, who broke open the door and found Pavan lying in a pool of blood. The Husky’s mouth and teeth were stained with blood, leading Sandeep and neighbours to assume the dog had fatally attacked him. “However, we maintained from the beginning that the exact cause would be known only after the PME,” Shakeer Ali said.
