Child trafficking: Cops to track prime accused Vandana in Ahmedabad

Hyderabad:In its pursuit of the prime child trafficker Vandana, Chaitanyapuri police sent to her native Ahmedabad to track down the accused.

Accused Krishnaveni and Vandana got in touch over social media and started trafficking. The racket was busted when they were trying to sell a boy. Police are confident that after tracing Vandana, they will be able to expose a bigger network involved in the racket.

Vandana operates the racket with an associate Savitri Devi, also from Ahmedabad, who has since been arrested. Savitri Devi handled the transportation of the kids, which is when she was caught red-handed.

They normally identify childless couples desperate to adopt children and lure them.
