Adilabad: A Hyderabad task force of the Civil Supplies department seized 615 quintals of PDS rice being illegally transported to Maharashtra on Friday.
The raid, conducted on the outskirts of Chennur in Mancherial district, led to the seizure of two lorries and one truck loaded with the rice, which has now been shifted to the Chennur police station.
Officials say the operation was launched after receiving credible information about large-scale illegal rice shipments to Maharashtra. Local police and the Civil Supplies task force are investigating the source of the rice and the people involved in its illegal transportation.
