Six members of a family have reportedly gone missing from their residence in New Bowenpally since March 2, according to Bowenpally station house officer B. Lakshmi Narayana Reddy.

Hyderabad:Six members of a family have reportedly gone missing from their residence in New Bowenpally since March 2, according to Bowenpally station house officer B. Lakshmi Narayana Reddy. The missing persons were Dandla Uma, along with her minor children an infant, and sister G. Sandhya, 25.

Police said they left home with their luggage, locked the door and boarded an autorickshaw. Uma’s husband Dandla Mahesh was not present at that time.

A missing persons complaint was filed by Uma’s brother, D. Mallaiah, through the house owner, Bikshapati. “We have registered a case launched an investigation,” the SHO said. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the missing persons were captured on CCTV cameras at the MGBS, reportedly boarding a bus to their native place.

“Initial inputs suggest they may have travelled to Vijayawada due to family disputes. Their phones are switched off and we have been unable to establish contact,” the SHO added.

Mahesh, who works as an operator at a local water supply centre, was being questioned to ascertain the circumstances that led to absence at the time his family left. Investigators confirmed that Sandhya visited Mahesh’s house on the morning of March 2, following which the family left. The case remains under investigation.


Hyderabad:In first of a kind initiative, Rachakonda police commissioner G. Sudheer Babu signed externment papers of two persons charged with multiple cases on Saturday. The duo of Nallapothula Rajesh alias ‘Mental’ Rajesh and Surender Reddy were served notices under Hyderabad City Police Act.

Sudheer Babu said, “There is no place for the culprits in the commissionerate. If the public ever spot them, they must report to the police.”

Mental’ Rajesh, 33 faces 19 cases, including four for murder cases. He was twice detained under the PD Act by the Nalgonda police. His other cases are under the Pocso Act, theft and attempt to murder cases.

Surender Reddy alias Suri has a rowdy sheeter with Rachakonda Police. He is charged with a murder case, as wel as for theft and under the Pocso Act and Arms Act.

Hyderabad:A 51-year-old woman inspector with the IT department ended life by jumping from the eighth floor window of CGO Towers in Kavadiguda on Saturday.

The victim, who has been identified as C N Jayalakshmi Ramesh, worked as a IT Inspector in CGO Towers.

Jayalakshmi for the past 28 months was staying with her only daughter C N Bhavana Ramesh at a rented house in only daughter to her parents and resides in flat number 202, Sony Plaza, Venkateshwara Colony, ECIL, Malkajgiri, police said. Jayalakshmi two years went into depression after she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was undergoing treatment, police said.

After Jayalakshmi was diagnosed with cancer she was upset and went into depression, victim’s daughter Bhavana stated in her complaint. As usual at 09:30 am Bhavana went to Begumpet for her CA Internship and in view of Babu Jagjeevan Ram Jayanthi today's government holiday, and her mother was on holiday, police stated.

At 12:48 hours Bhavana received a phone call from Gandhi Nagar police and a police officer informed her that her mother Jayalakshmi Ramesh has committed suicide by jumping from 8th floor window of CGO towers, Kavadiguda.

Bhavana rushed to the scene and she noticed that her mother lying on the ground with a heavy bleeding injury due to head rushed her to the emergency ward at Gandhi Hospital where the duty doctor after examining the victim informed that she was brought dead.

Gandhinagar police station SHO D Raju said, “ we received a complaint 1430 hrs from victim’s daughter Bhavana Ramesh (22) who is pursuing her CA in which she stated that nine years back her father C N Ramesh and her mother got divorced since then her father has been staying with her in Safilguda.”

Complainant further stated that she suspects that her mother might have committed suicide due to depression and nervousness about over her ill health (Breast cancer, SHO said. Further the complainant Bhavana requested the investigation to take necessary legal action as per law.

Police registered a case of suspicious death and shifted victim’s body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem and later handed over her body to family members for last rites.
